what, when, why.
words, words, words.
It all started in a junior high newspaper class, where I found a skill I loved! My work as the Editor-in-Chief continued into high school and college publications, and eventually to obtaining a degree in Multimedia News from Oklahoma State University - Go Pokes!
​
To me, journalism was the perfect creative outlet. It opened doors for me to meet new, interesting people and tell their stories. After college, I learned that digital marketing used similar skills as those I learned in broadcasting school, and allowed me to connect with people and do storytelling, too! The perfect fit. I took my first job as a Digital Marketing Coordinator.
​
From there, I moved into various software positions at the company, and learned a lot of tech skills. Suddenly, I was supporting various software needs across the building. This was a great segue into website development work!
​
Organically, business owners I knew started running tech and marketing/advertising questions by me, which turned into contract jobs. Before I knew it, Wordy Girl Creative was born! The name stems from my love for storytelling, which seeps into everything I do, from Google Ads to a well designed website, to a Facebook post or SMS campaign.... At the heart of it all is: well written words.
For the last six years, I've been doing work I love everyday!​​ WGC's main goals: serve my family well, serve my clients well. It's a wonderful mom-gig, and I'm extremely blessed to get to do what I do.
